1 Cor 1:9 God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.
After yesterday’s service I was talking with one of the women who facilitates our Women’s Bible Study and we chatted about the seriousness of leading Bible Studies, of being a leader in the church, the Body of Christ. As we talked I pointed out that it is almost laughable that God who spoke the universe into existence, who has always existed, who sent His only son to die on the cross to wash away our sins, has entrusted us with his mysteries as Paul later writes in 1 cor 4. It might seem even a daunting task as we look at all of our failures that have occurred throughout our lives, all the things we have messed up on and made mistakes in trying to accomplish. But God doesn’t look at those when He calls us, He looks at what we can become through His help and His intercession in our lives. He does not make mistakes. Evidently when He calls us, He is serious about having a relationship with us, and having fellowship with Him. We so often look at ourselves and who we are, instead of looking at God and trying to understand more of who He is as we go through our lives. This week take your eyes off of yourself, look fully into God’s Word, get to know Him better and see what great and wonderful things He has called you to accomplish through His faithfulness.
